Message from Steven Horsfall (Owner and Responsible Individual)
I have owned Summerfield Residential Care Home since 1985. It has been a major part of my life for more than 30 years; and I have always gone out of my way to provide the best for our residents and their families. My daughter Lee, has been working at Summerfield for more than 20 years.
In August last year, CQC visited Summerfield to conduct an unannounced inspection. Immediately after receiving feedback from CQC, and well in advance of receiving the actual inspection report, we proceeded to make changes and implement new processes and structures. We are following a very comprehensive Action Plan in order to make these improvements; and have worked closely with CQC and Bradford Council since the inspection.
When we received the report in December, Lee and I were both deeply upset and disappointed by the overall rating. I guarantee that this unfortunate event will never reoccur.
Our focus is, and has always been, to provide robust, safe and individualised care for our Residents. This will continue going forwards.

Participation is entirely voluntary and families can take part if they wish. To further improve their feeling of well-being we provide our residents with weekly visits from local hairdressers, chiropodists, and local religious leaders of all denominations.
